Early Habits and How to Make Them Fun!!

Did you know it takes 21 days to form a habit? Starting healthy dental habits early can lead to a life time of good oral health and a beautiful smile! Online resources can help at home to teach why it’s important for good oral health and things both parents and kids can do to maintain it. The commitment you show to helping your child build good habits will last them much longer then you might think. Starting these habits early is a good way to help children feel comfortable at the dentist, “The ADA recommends that the first dental visit take place within six months after the first tooth appears, but no later than a child’s first birthday”.  Helping your children in the morning and at night with brushing for just 21 days will help form that healthy habit.  Let’s not forget about flossing, it’s recommended that flossing begin as soon as two teeth are touching.

The Colgate website has a entire page geared towards children and making oral health fun with games and education!  Take a 21 days challenge, commit the time both morning and night for brushing and flossing .  Let us know of your progress and any helpful tips you use! Use the Colgate link to find some fun ways to make oral health educational and exciting!
